Do NBA GMs know that Houston still has a franchise?

Forward Terrence Jones could emerge as one of the top rookies this season. (Smiley N. Pool/Chronicle)

In the 11th-annual poll of NBA general managers by nba.com (full version is linked here), you might have to wonder if anyone in the league is paying much attention to the Rockets for this season.

Houston got a few scant mentions:

Most surprising move of the offseason: Houston?s decision to amnesty Luis Scola was in the also-receiving votes category although to be fair the Knicks? decision not to match Jeremy Lin?s offer sheet by Houston came in at No. 3 behind Steve Nash signing with the Lakers and the Dwight Howard trade.

Which rookie is most athletic: Terrence Jones made the also-receiving votes list.

Which rookie is most likely to be a sleeper success: Jones snuck in at No. 6 and Donatas Motiejunas made the also-receiving votes list.

Which international player is most likely to have a breakout season: Motiejunas tied for fourth.

And that?s it for your Houston Rockets. Maybe if there had been a lottery category?

Rockets don?t get much mention in annual poll of GMs on upcoming season.
